Fleurs du Mal, 2:50, completed September 2007
This film name is based on a French poetry book by 19th century poet, Charles Baudelaire. The animation was based on some funny notebook doodles that my friend and partner Sylvie Lekarakos created while we were in Woodstock NY. The stories are based on conflicts that occur between roommates who do not get along. Sylvie and I have both have had plenty of those kinds of people in our lives. As an animation, I loved the idea because the foundation is based on a subject that is close to home. I have only screened this film in front of a few small audiences, but it has been well received and was selected to screen in the BeFilm Underground Film Festival, NYC April 2008. The Fleurs was a part of an amazing Viral Video night of shorts that have commercial appeal! I had no idea that it was being entered into this night, but I am truly honored that it stood tall beside some absolutely amazing shorts and commercials to be. I will return to making individual chapters of the original film someday in the not too distant future when time and money is convenient. I hope you liked the film I made.
